Description : Between 10,000 and 8,000 B.C. and probably earlier, an Asiatic-derived Upper Palaeolithic culture spread across much of the unglaciated territory of Beringia in Alaska and the Yukon.

As of the 2001 Canadian Census there are over 900,000 Aboriginal peoples in Canada. This includes approximately 600,000 people of First Nations descent, 290,000 Métis, and 45,000 Inuit.
