Description : Small glaciers, majestic mountains, alpine meadows and heavy coniferous forest consisting of spruce, pine, fir, hemlock and cedar, are visible from this 6.4 km. (4 mi.) long Green lake.

Vancouver and Whistler will host the 2010 Winter Olympic Games, scheduled for 12 to 28 February 2010, and the Paralympic Games, scheduled for 12 to 21 March 2010. Whistler and the Callaghan Valley will host Alpine Skiing, Biathlon, Cross-country Skiing, Nordic Combined, Ski Jumping, Bobsleigh, Luge, and Skeleton. Cypress Mountain in North Vancouver and other venues in and around Vancouver will host Freestyle Skiing, Snowboarding, and all the ice sports: Hockey, Figure Skating, Curling, Speed Skating, and Short Track Speed Skating.
