Description : The Estuary is where the fresh water river meets the sea.
During November to February the Squamish Estuary is a fine place to observe the Bald eagles which come to the area by the thousands to feed on the Chum Salmon which spawn in the Squamish river. Also during this time you may view Trumpeter Swans which migrate here annually. Perhaps you will see Black-tail Deer or Black Bears which also are common in the area. Harbor seals or Sea lions can often be seen fishing on either side of the Dyke.
