Liard River Bison Herd, Northern British Columbia, Canada 14

Description : These Bison are part of the Liard River herd. I joined the herd in their travels for a photo shoot which lasted over 3 hours.

The current range of the Wood Bison is centred on the borders of the Northwest Territories, Alberta, British Columbia and the Yukon.
The largest herds are in Wood Buffalo National Park. Bison are grazers, and prefer highly productive,wet, grassy meadows. Reintroduced Wood Bison in British Columbia are located in three separate herds –two along the Liard River near the Yukon-Northwest
Territories border and one at Etthithun Lake near the Alberta border.
